Short Story Maps

Today we explored the use of the story map to better understand the structure (we called it “The Skeleton”) of a short story.  We read and story mapped “King Canute at the Seashore” (download it here) and “The Travels of a Fox” (download it here).

Develop a rough draft story map for the short story you will be writing later. DO NOT write a short story.  All you have to do is create a story map of what your short story will be about.  This is to help us to start thinking about our stories and to get some basic ideas down on paper.  Feel free to list several different options for each category.  You don’t have to commit yourself to anything right now.

Use this form: online or download it.
